This was one of my first OTs. I bought it at a flea market back in the late 1980s. It looked very old at that time, not much different then in does now.
It never occured to me untill recently, after seeing all the schrades here, that this knife has no tang stamp or any other markings but the old timer emblem on the handle. Could this be a factoy reject that was never stamped or was there a time when only the ot logo was used? It's a very heavy carbon steel and holds an edge very well.It does have what looks like the original sheath.

You guys have been so generous in answering all my other questions, I thought I would throw this one out there.
Thanks again, Rick

Rick, that is a 165OT Woodsman (1967-1991). I have never seen one without any tangstamp, but the style of guard makes me believe that it was produced after 1972 in the Ellenville factory. Earlier ones had a thinner guard with a curved lower front face. These knives were produced for Sears and quite a few other private issues, so it is possible that yours was such a knife with a special etch identifier, now gone. I recently wrote a post about these knives that you can view here:

PS: This is my favorite fixed blade pattern. Yours is in excellent used condition it seems. Nice knife!

You are correct in assuming that it is a second or a reject. Once again one of the neat finds connected to Schrade. Even if it had a special etch at one time ( which would have been electro etched )it still would have had a tang stamp originally. LT

Thanks again guys, for sharring your OT knowledge.
Here is another pic with the sheath. It does have the third layer of leather between the sticthing as Codger discribed in the above thread
