So, which do you like better, the old BladeForums prior to 4.14.2017 or the new one since?

In my case, distance will not make my heart grow fonder regarding the old format. While true that our familiarity with it had made us know our way a bit around that landscape, I reckon that this one is easier to navigate through once we get accustomed to it, it is faster and more reliable. +1 for the new format

While I'm still pondering, I voted for the old BF since there are so many issues with the new one even after about two weeks of uptime and about three days of transfer/upgrade/down time.

The old one afforded you fewer "keystrokes" to your destination.

Fortunately, I can change my vote at a later time which is already an advantage in this software.

So, I'm still monitoring and pondering...

Sorry. Created this thread in the wrong forum.

Seems immaterial to create this thread in a Techie rather than a public forum.

My fault.

New all the way. Cleaner. Conversations allow Basic Members to handle more PMs :) . I have been here a while and have been part of a few forum changes. This one is the best yet.

I guess its alright but some options seem missing and I can't get the links in my sig to work. At this point I like the old way better but hopefully this one works out.

I am not aware of major issues with the new website. There are definitely much improved features so my vote goes to absolutely the new version.

I voted new. There have been a couple times when the forums had to be taken down to fix bugs, but it doesn't crash regularly like it used to. I have to say that I was considering not renewing my membership because of the technical difficulties that seemed to be ongoing. It looks like that has been addressed by this upgrade. I think that most of the problems people are having are the types of things that you are going to get with any technology change. It mostly seems to boil down to the fact that it's different and people don't like change. I don't see any other downside to this platform.

I voted old. While browser based viewing is definately improved, the exclusion of Taptalk has diminished my overall user experience.

At first I absolutely hated the new format, but have gotten used to it and at least don't hate it anymore.
What I don't like is the traditional and buck forums being so far down the list, and the fact that I can't use my own icons, emoji 's ...ect of which my phone has a large selection.
At the moment I still prefer the old, but I'm not losing sleep over the new format.

Ill vote new. just because hope is all we can have right? The old one always was down for some reason or another, it just seemed like every time it was down I was right in the middle of a trade or sale. Murphy's law right ?

It's a mixed bag for me. No Tapatalk is annoying, as most of my posts are via my phone.

The notification system is neat. Time will tell whether I like it or not. I'm getting old and am resistant to change.

Old links not working is a known issue, and I thought Spark was able to get it corrected; it that has proven not to be the case. At least in your situation, you can fix it yourself by going back to those threads and copy/pasting the new addresses into your signature.

This isn't up for discussion. The new format is staying, the old software was broken and no longer supported. I'm sorry if you don't like it, but "the way things were" doesn't fix issues you have.

Since it's not open for discussion in General Discussions we may as well close this thread.
