Guys that have 1 or more of the Original Zaans......old pivot, without the thumb release extension, and no lbs.

What would it take for you sell your Zaan $ wise.

I don't think sell 1 of my 2 for any less than $475+. Mine is not lnib., it's a user, a light user, with marks and scratches.

I have another old model TNK tanto that I screwed up the tip when I was sharpening it. Richard j made tip into a

drop point. Very strong tip. I really don't think I'd sell either 1 of them, they can't be replaced.

Would sell yours if money wasn't a problem? How much? Or wouldn't you sell it/them.

Only one I have that meets that qualification is a heavily modded Tanto, and it is practically priceless to me. Gratuitous pics:

I bought two and sold one. Based on my experience and what I've watched here, my personal opinion is $375 to $400. I've seen one go for less and one go for more. Like anything it's what the buyer and seller are willing to do.

I picked one up on the exchange not too long ago for $380 in excellent condition. They are not rare enough to go for inflated prices. Yet.....

Had one, sold it, missed it, bought another, then bought a spare that turned out to have been made on the same day...anyway, I'd have to be in dire straits before I sold one/both. It's not on my top five knives list, but it's probably in the top ten.

I carried one for a few years, my only example of the 'Zaan so it stays.

I also have an old pivot pair that were born on the same day. Got them at different times from very different sources.

Same here. One came from a LKS. Got the other from a vendor across the country six months later and was very surprised when I opened the box. I'm thinking: "that date looks familiar...I wonder if..." and sure enough, it matched. Odd coincidence, though maybe CRK makes few enough (and makes them in batches) so that the odds aren't as great as you'd usually think?

I think that's exactly what happens. I've also got a pair of Mammoth Bark Sebs that share a birthday, but those did both come new from the same vendor.

I've got one and I'll never sell it. It's one of the favorite knives in my collection.

I think he got it "extra right" with this one. All CRKs are great knives, but everything just works aesthetically for me with that knife. Got lucky, mine looks like brand-new, and I paid $390 for it about 18 months ago.
