Note I cant spell.
The almighty question used to be about natureal stock as handle material.
If the knife is for show, go for it!
The only exception is my 25-5 that has been to hell and back and not yet cracked!
All and I mean ALL my antler and horn handles (Randalls as non Randalls) have fractured or cracked under what a #14 would call a normal everyday life.
If you wish to punish you knife in the slightest avoid natural handles.
Bonus, if you want to just use the natural handle in traquel senariose, Cold dont dother them.
My RMK 1 survived Ante Actica with a 72hr return to Djimutie with no handle crack, or shrinkage either way.
It was when I wanted to make a fire on the White Mountain in France that she broke (handle) to much shock I figure.
Shock is also the only reasion I figure my 25-5 lives. The leather must some how protect the stag from the shock that wants to shater it.
K...
Those are my experiances.
Hope they help some in your next RMK purchase.
