I have used many types of handle materials, but I keep coming back to stabilized "Maple Burl". This stuff is absolubely beautiful. It can make an average Joe maker like me look a little better.

440C Hollow Ground Mirror Polished
9" OAL
4 3/4" from Tip to Handle material
Brass Mosiac and Handle Pins
Dyed Stabilized Maple Burl Handle

As always, comments good, bad, or indifferent are welcomed.

Thanks for the comments gang.

Shann.............Stabilized wood just means that it has been impregnated with resinous materials (usually with heat and pressure). These resins virtually eliminate the woods tendancy to expand and contract due to changes in the weather (moisture, etc.).

Another neat thing is that these stabilized woods usually require no finish coat..........just sand, buff, and "Wa-La"....a thing of beauty.
