This is not one you see too often. The model number has slipped my mind. Maybe someone can help me with it. Giant stainless steel handles, hidden pins, weehawk profile, with a positive lock-up in both the open and closed position. IMHO, This mofo flips and feels like a custom. comes with an old school BM sheath. Tang is stamped with BM's butterfly over "International Series", but the knife does not have the zamak handles like the other BM-IS crap. $sold steals this one USPS insured.

thanks for looking! :)

Dang.... ya scared me for a second there!

Had to look twice at her. Thought you might be getting rid of her already. Good to see it isn't the one you bought earlier. :D

Good luck with the sale of it. She sure is a bigun! They sure as he11 don't make em like that anymore.

Wow Doug, never seen one like it. I've never seen BM make production skeletonized handles like that with big holes and no small ones. The handles look like they were machined from a single billet. If I had to guess I would say this is a PCC proto where they were testing some new machined custom SS handles. Only other set of handles I've seen like that on are a rare custom that Pete has.

No doubt it's custom size. I don't think an international blade was ever put on handles that thick for production

Ahhh, I think I've solved it. See page 112 of the Advanced Balisong Manual. 21 years old would it make it a PCC, at least a couple years before Benchmade. This model is the ubiquitous PCC 129. Only 200 were ever sold in the U.S. making it quite rare. The PCC 129 was the first "international" model. It's MSRP was $50 and it had handles with big holes and no little ones, just like yours. The handles weren't stainless but rather made of a diecast alloy. I imagine the reason this model wasn't stamped with the Pat stamp is because it was made overseas or because the patented design is the big hole/small holes pattern.

This is a nice score for a collector, even though the reason so few were sold was becuase the line was immediately discontinued after they arrived form Japan: The quality was not up to PCC's stringent standards.

I have the same knife, it is definately a monster. I unfortuately dont know the story behind it and would like to know its history also. I like the toothpick thin stop pin in it, im suprised they held up as well as it did.

I just told the story in this thread. For more info see the Advanced Balisong Manual

Im pretty sure the handles are made of stainless steel, rather than a diecast alloy but i could be wrong. Thanks for the info though, ill have to check out the advanced balisong manual.

Sorry Braundc, a magnet WILL stick to normal stainless steel, except for austenitic stainless which is what I use at work... My bad, I thought the magnet deal applied to all stainless...
