I recently acquired a Bud Nealy custom. My understanding is it is a "presentation grade" model made from Daryl Meier damascus steel.

Attached are pics showing the knife. Here are the specs:

Model: Aikuchi II
Serial # 3650
Steel: 80 layers of damascus steel with 52100 core
Tang: Full length, proximal taper
Bolsters: Dovetailed 416 stainless steel
Handles: Black & green G-10 with two one-way bolts
Carry system: Multi-Carry System (Gen 1 MCS)
Blade length: 3.5" (3" cutting edge)
Handle length (including bolsters): 3 7/8"
Total length: Just shy of 7.5"

I am sending this link to Bud and Toni so I can show them the pics and request information. I am hoping they will reply with more information, or to correct any inaccuracies. I'd really like to know when it was made.

In the meantime, enjoy the pics and post some of your own!

Here's a photo showing the whole right-side of the knife. You can see how the ends of the bolts have been ground off.

From Bud:

It was made in September 1997 and sold in October of that year. It sold for $275 and today would sell for $400.

Other than that I think all the facts are straight.

Nice Aikuchi!

Here's a new Nealy I picked up a few months ago. it's Bud's "Little David" model. One handy little knife for sure.
