Good morning. I was able to replace a knife I lost to the Camp Fire in North California four years ago. It’s the CRKT MS21-14FS. You might remember it the big honk’in folder with the dual finger guards and three point serrations (not ZEF serrations) on on third of the blade? This was the original model with aluminum scales. Well the knife I purchased on FleaBay didn’t come with the pocket clip and three screws.
I got a hold of crkt because you can get replacement parts from them through their warranty program. Their reply is that they no longer carry the screws and clips for these knives! More
. So I asked them why not and they answered that the model has been changed. So upon first inspection I can see the they did change the design to include G10 scales and now the knife handle is lined with steel on both sides to have backing for the screws through the G10. So in my mind crkt must use longer screws instead of shorter ones in the original model that threaded right into the aluminum scales. Ok that made sense. So my question is did crkt also change the dimensions of the holes in the pocket clip so that they no longer match the original knife? I would sure like to find a pocket clip for this knife. I can come up with the shorter screws.
