Very stimulating. I may have to do my civic duty and help conntribute to the recovery as well. Think my wife will buy it?Beautiful setup.

Damn, Kismet. Looks like you got stimulated much more than I did:eek: Nice leather and steel. Bought a New Ruger Vaquero months ago and still haven't gotten the chance to shoot the dang thing...

Have fun,

Dave

That's a nice combination. I love the look of that lever action.

I am hoping to stimulate the economy in a similar fashion in the upcoming months. ;) :)

Details, Kis? What's the knife?

Mike

Hey Mike...

Knife is...maybe...my first eBay purchase, eight years ago or so. Came from Alaska, private party, heavy stag with a wood laminate guard/base of handle. Used, but not abused. Only ID is the number "#127" on the blade.

I think it must have been a private maker's hunter's blade. Five and one half inch blade, carbon steel, great blade shape, maybe 3/16ths thick at spine, takes a great edge. Sheath needed rehabilitation, but was never anything special. Lovely old knife. I don't "collect" but I DO accumulate.

Has a great "look," you know? Fit right into the picture for me.:)

Winchester 94 is 1974, 30-30, 20 inch barrel, plain walnut stock, no cross-bar safety. "Worker's Gun," is how I think of it. Good bore with some freckling on the receiver, where it balances and was carried, none on or in barrel, or on tube. No scarring on the wood, taking BLO nicely so far. Shot "minute of rock" for the two shots I've taken so far. :)

Revolver is 6.5in, 70's vintage Ruger Single Six, with the .22wrm and .22lr cylinders. Got it at a farm auction last Fall.

(Edit: Did you know that they discontinued the Winchester Model 1894 in 2006? Jeez.)

Nice all around survival rig no matter whut.  :D Of course from whut I've read over the years some folks way up north would probably trade the .22 pistol fer a .410 shotgun fer settin grouse in the evergreens.;) :p

Really nice knife Kis! :)

Kis, how sturdy is that laminated guard? I've seen a line of knives made with the same material for guards I'm pretty sure, think they were made in Russia.
From the feedback by the folks who bought them they are high class knives made to really work, can't beat a recommendation like that. :D

Solid as a rock, Yvsa.

I haven't tried to mess it up, of course; but a rigid handle on a solid blade. Wonder if it might have come to Alaska from Russia? It was obviously used long and well. Could there have been much trading back and forth?

Don't know much about varieties of antler. Axis is heavier than whitetail. Might be moose, for all I know. Very dense.

Thanks.
