I bought this off another forum for $20 shipped. An excellent deal IMO for such an outstanding knife, but I'm wondering what I should do with it? The clip was broken off (like so many others with the molded in clip) by the previous owner, and I took it to a grinder and took off the rest off what was left of the clip.

My question is,

A) Should I leave it like it is, and just pocket carry the blade?

B) Inquire how much it would cost to add a pocket clip to it, and is it worth "investing" the time and money into it? I already have a Endura 4 if I want to clip an Endura to my pocket.

I've heard of Spyderco repairing these old Enduras for a fee ($20ish if I recall, and if it hasn't changed since I read it). Do they still do this, or am I better off installing a clip myself? Would I be able to simply drill and tap the FRN scales for clip screws or would I have to find some way to anchor the screws some other way? Pictures are very helpful, and for anyone that's done any work to these knives before, your advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Yes you can use self-tapping screws to attach a clip to the FRN. No problemo. Been there done that. Still have an old Cold Steel Vaquero Grande with a Benchmade clip screwed to the handle, been that way for years. Black traction tape from Pep Boys on the clip, it's more durable. That's also been there for years.

Do you remember what size screws you used and did you pre drill the FRN to keep it from messing it up? I hope I can find the extra Benchmade clip I had laying around, but I'd image it's long gone. I think I may have a ZT clip sitting around though too hmmmm.

You can get the clip and self-tapping screws from Spyderco for maybe $8

Awesome, thanks for the reply. That clip looks really good on there. Wouldn't even know it wasn't factory if you didn't say anything. I'm guessing emailing Spyderco's CS dept would be the fastest way to get a hold of one, if they don't see this thread first.

Go to a local hobby shop that sells model radio control stuff. They have all kinds of small self tapping screws. Phillips head, slot head, even small allen head screws. Just find whatever screw fits the hole. Yes I pre-drilled the handle with like a #50 or #60 drill bit.
