Found this on a nondescript firearms sight looking for a dated Commercial Swiss holster for a 1906 DWM 9mm American Eagle Luger....the very first firearm in 9mm ever made for import in the US....and there it was, ERA II, 'Maker Unknown'.

We all know it's our friend and World Class ABS Master Bladesmith, Russ Andrews. :)

It came with those two sheaths, I don't think it had ever been out of the one it's pictured in because it looked like a Science Project what with the verdigris exuding from the brass guard. Perfectly executed tapered-tang, red liners behind what look like old Westinghouse linen-Micarta scales, and a perfect grind and polish.

Perfectly scaled in size and a real little gem of a knife.... :)

Nice find! One of the best parts of knife collecting is finding that gem that went un-recognized by others.

It is what was called a "Three Finger " knife, when I made it in the mid 70s. The scales are Westinghouse bone/paper micarta, and the
blade could be D2 or 440C (I only made one of those in 440C).
That style eventually became my "Favorite" style.....which I still make, from time to time.

Thank you, my friend, for stopping by and filling me in on the history of this little beauty.

It is a superior scaled-down fixed blade and indicative of your incredible craftsmanship and a harbinger of things to come from you years later.....perfection.

Wow, great score!

I favor a knife that size and style, like the material choice too.

Very cool that you found it!
