Old School Liner Locks

This may be a maintenance thread but is somewhat unique to traditionals. I have a Cub Scout knife with the brass liner locks on the awl and bottle opener. The bottle opener one doesn't engage very well. It isn't damaged, just doesn't spring over far enough (to the left in this case). Any ideas for shoving it over?

I've had these, and I just get in there with some needlenose pliers and adjust it where you need it to go.

Ok thanks. I had thought of that but figured I'd ask if there was a tried and true.
