Just scored me a THINFI SHBA
She measures .235 and feels ooooooh so sweeeet.
Can't wait for Jerry to check her out and verify she is in fact INFI.

That is the same sheath as your passaround. Is that what came with those or something you have several of?

Congrats on the score, I was looking at that one but Paul said it was about .25" and couldn't verify the thickness. That might be INFI..
Either way, Sweet knife.

Zach,

Those are one of the sheaths that came with the SHBA's back in the day.
There were also kydex sheaths and one similar to the one pictured but with a snap around the handle instead of the cordage.

.235 is thin?

Me loves the THINFI SHBA's.
For SHBA's .235 is the thinnest I have seen.
Lots of fatties at .28+ and a few .25 thick A2.
Very few true 5/16 or .315 but lots around .300 - .310.

Now I know the reason for the hog terminology- these things are way fat.....is there a reason a 4" blade is .3" thick?

Thanks for the link and info Tim. Good to see you are around every once in a while. You should hang around more often...

I could only wish,Priceing on the old knifes are through the roof,But thanks for shairing I still love looking at them.

I would really like to think that there is more to the A2 vs Infi mystery than slotted or smooth bolt. If it were this simple why have people been dropping money mailing knives in for "chemical analysis" identification and spending time with Jerry over the phone to id these knives if it is all based on fasteners.......
