I walked into a sporting goods store in my town for the first time. I saw an old Buck on display that was made 4 or 5 years ago. It was the last one he had and I bought it. As I was leaving I saw a couple of Schrades on the bottom shelf of the display case. I only glanced at them before leaving. They were fixed blades with leather sheaths, the tang was marked Schrade, the blade length was about 4 inches. Wide blade. Full tang. I can't remember if there was a guard but I don't think so. The handle appeared to be stag. It isn't the Sharpfinger model, I know that. What model could this be? I'd guess that it could be several years old because this shop doesn't seem to sell a lot of knives.

It is real tough from your description there are several possibilities. The exact tang marking and a better description would help a pic would almost guarantee an answer. Sorry I could not help more. LT

Geeze... AF, it perks me right up to find a sporting goods store with some old stock still tucked away. I've found a couple good ones... the shop was selling them for much more than the local discount store or Bass Pro catalog, so they never sold... never... until the model is long out of production and it may actually be worth more than the price they are asking. Serious... get us a number, and these Schrade guys will give you the details. You never know, you might have been looking at a valuable PF model. Good deal for you on the Buck.

Here's a Delrin stag handled mid-size hunter 124UH I got on ebay for a lousy ten bucks. Easily twice the quality of the current Case XX mid sized, at a fraction of the price. I like this one.

Nice one Phil.
Certainly wasn't a "Lousy" ten spot with that as your prize. :D

Thanks for your help everyone. I'll go back to the store and really inspect the knife, and then get back to you.

Phil,
Glad you got a 124UH. It and the 123OT are my favorites. Perfect pocket carry size for a single blade folder. And of course well made.
If you see anymore for that price.. Get me one.
