Old Scrhade vs. New Schrade

I am a brand new member with a very basic question about Schrade. Is any Schrade knife that says "Made in U.S.A." by definition an original Schrade vs. the new Schrade bought out by Taylor and presumably "Made in China". Or are there some Taylor Schrades made in USA as well? I guess another way of asking the same question is how can you tell on eBay which Schrades are original Schrades vs. the later version. Also, are the Chinese "copies" vastly inferior to the original made in USA?

The simple answer to your question about quality is yes.Check out Codger's rants, use the search function, lots of good information.Welcome to the forum.Arnold

There are some new yellow handle Schrades made by Camillus in the USA (for Taylor). These are easy to spot because they have an etch ("Everlastingly Sharp") on the main blade. Not bad knives but not original Schrades. There are also some new Schrades thought to be made by Bear in the USA. They don't really resemble older Schrades (but do resemble the current Bear line) so they are also easy to spot.
