old sharpmaker angle

what was the degrees of the old one piece base sharpmaker? how does it compare with the new model and it's two angles? thanks in advance!

The old one was 20 degrees per side. The current version allows a 15 degree angle as well as a 20 degree.

Frankly, I generally just use the rods freehand, but the new one is a better setup if you use it as its intended.

so the old one was 40
and the new one is 30 or 40... right?

Yes, the "included" angles (where you add both sides of the blade) would be 30 and 40 degrees. The old one would have only been 40.
