old shovels, hoes, & rakes

I was wondering if old shovels, hoes and rakes would be good for forging into knife blades?

not very thick, but should be good steel. just no clue as to what it is.

They work great when cut up and welded into a billet of Damascus.or you can fold them up in the forge and weld them together and make billet from that steel only.I prefer to add them to the mix of my Frontier style Damascus.
