old spec on new spec handle

I like the flathead screws that are in the old spec GSO's. Has anybody tried putting the flathead screws in the new spec GSO handle? My new GSO 5.1 is.....well it has yet to be made other wise I would have done this myself.

someone with both knives can probably speak with more knowledge, but I believe the flat head screws are tapered, where the new T25 heads have a shoulder. I don't *think* it will work. More intelligent people are welcome to disagree.

They are not a direct fit. Ellie will confirm if you won't take my word for it.

This is from Ellie:

"Unfortunately, the new fasteners have a slightly different head on them than the old ones so they will be raised up higher than the handle unless the holes are countersunk further. We also don’t know which new fasteners might fit on the old handles. All of the new handles have significantly more contouring than the older versions so it isn’t a direct swap between a model’s old and new spec."

Yep. That's what I thought.

It would take some custom modifying to make 'em work, and there is a thread for that. I hope the OP has the gumption to give it a shot. What's the worst that could happen?
