I like the shape and design of the old spydie mouse more than the new mouse at blade-tech, which I believe is made by Schrade?

I was wondering if anyone has both the old and new and can discuss a comparison?

I've handled both. The Spyderco is more a classic. The Blade-Tech G-10 model doesn't have any liners, and mine wasn't really smooth. It is extreme grippy however. If you're looking for a classy good looking piece, get the Spyderco. If you want it for hard use (hunting?), get the Blade-Tech I guess.

(ps. Still have a Spyderco Mouse...sold the Blade-Tech...)

Ted has it right.

I have both, the girlfriend carries the blade-tech. I do like the flat grind over the hollow, but the spyde hole looks better. The spyde has smoother (alum) scales and is heavier, blade-tech being more grippy and lighter. Other than that is comes down to blade steel VG-10 vs S30V.

The benifit of the the blade-tech it you can take it apart. My girlfriend has asked me to make some liners up and put some nice wood or ivory on it. So I'll be doing that soon.

Thanks for your replies.

I will try to get the spydie one first, then if I need a rough use one, I'll get the blade-tech.

Where are you guys finding these Spyderco Mice? I've been looking for one for a little bit and haven't been able to track one down.

I have the Wegner Mouse II with G-10 scales. This is a light, sharp, grippy and robust "little" lockback knife with S30V steel and a flat grind that will do anything. Only the Dodo can ride with this little keeper. It is my EDC. Also comes in CF. A little pricey for a little knife but worth every penny. I put on a sebenza style paracord and now the mouse has a "tail" and is comfy in watch pocket.

I picked up a NIB Spydie Mouse on fleabay in a dutch auction for $39 a while back.
btw, it is a GREAT little knife!!!! Very easy to use one handed too.

Good luck.....
