Thanks for the kind words about this knife.....

PhilL will work for knives, now thats cool. I can see a person with a sign like that on a freeway on-ramp.... Bet that would get some strange reactions.....

Bruce, I'm not totally sure but think that blade was the piece of steel I was banging on the night you were over although I had a mind change on the shape before I was done with it. Thats the thing I like best about the fire. Our Friend is really interested in this blade for a number of reasons.....

I forevermore like that blade. The swedge is perfect, and crown stag is one of my favorite handle materials, especially for rhis type of knife. Awesome looking piece.

What is the blade steel?

Coonskinner,
The steel I used for this knife was 1065, 5160 without the crome. The steel supplier in Portland carries a wide range of steel but to get the size bars you want you've got to go with something other than what you started out wanting. I wanted 1084 but didn't have the size I was after plus the 1084 they now call 1084/95 so they don't have to carry both. I think I heard Admiral is not going to carry 1084 either but don't know if they are going with the 2fer....Ray
