Finished this bowie this morning. Hand forged 10" blade with a total length of 15 1/2". Euro crown stag handle with bronze fittings. Hope you like it....Ray

That's a real beauty Ray. What kind of steel did you use.

I never used to care for crown stag, but lately I have been seeing more and more knives that are changing my mind about this.
 
Keith, The steel in this knife is 1065. Not much different than 5160 except without the crome. Trying to find a really nice crown is pretty difficult, this is one I've had for at least two years and it finally caught my eye......Ray
 
I really like seeing those old Bowies, even though it's not what a collect. That is a beautiful example. Thanks for sahring it...
