ALSO POSTED ON THE SPYDIESITE (please excuse duplication)
Folks,
I found one of these locally today, and I am quite interested in it. It has the integral moulded clip that I've thought would be good at times, so as to avoid scratching things up with the metal edges of the current clips. Besides, I adore the Delica design and this is a bit rare now. To top it all off I don't own anything in G2 (GIN1) steel; which this one uses. Finally, it is fully serrated and from photos of some of these older models I've seen it appears that the old designs generally had serrations continuing a wee bit closer to the tip than does the current style, which I also prefer.
So here is my question: Is it possible that these older knives had a serration pattern that wasn't as "deep" into the blades height as are the current ones? If there isn't thought to be a difference in this regard, then I think perhaps this knife has seen a fair bit of sharpening as it seems to have "shallower" serrations than the current ones. Does anybody know about this?
Thanks, Jeff/1911.
