This one was inspired by the recent articles in Blade by Dr. Batson. It's not intended to be an exact duplicate of any of the knives shown in the articles but just to have the feel of them.

The blade was forged from some 2" W2 round. The handle is walnut with silver inlets & pommel wrap. It's not the show piece of a John White dogbone but I like the traditional look & feel of it. This has a hidden tang with a recessed pommel nut hidden under the pommel wrap. What appears to be the edge of a full tang are silver inlets.

Let me know what you think.

Old School Cool...

Looks like it came from a time machine. Some gambler from the past is wondering how he lost that bet.

Very nice...

It already looks like it has a history of a Ferry Boat gambler

Thanks, guys. I appreciate it.

Jim--

10 pins is one more than traditionally used. I added the extra one since I added 1/2" to the length of the handle from the originals. Most of the old dogbones had a very short handle which most now find uncomfortable.

Gary,

I have a larger hand, so a longer handle sounds good to me.

That's pretty. The blade shape reminds me of the Yaller' Bar blade that Bob Engnath used to do..
