old swords

Bill,

Hi, welcome to the forums.

Pricing is always a relative thing. It depends alot on how you sell it and how much energy you invest in selling it. However we can certainly help you identify these items.

By the 19th century the military sword was usually massed produced in quantity. The more valuable swords are those that have some relevant uniqueness, for instance those that can be verifiably associated with famous personages. Next in line would be swords with exceptional features and decoration, they may have been procured by well to do officers, or produced by the factory as an exhibition piece. Then you have the standard patterns; where the value depends on the relative desirability of the model, its state of preservation, and its completeness.

It would help if you could provide a picture of the entire sword, as the factories often interchanged parts to develop new models. It would also be a big boost if you have the original sheaths for these swords.
