Old three fuller blade

Looks like a neat old khuk. [edited: I mean a bizzare tourist piece with a low grade steel blade.] <grin>

I have bought many antique swords from this seller and find Scott Rodell to have some of the finest and most authentic antique [Chinese and Tibetan] weapons you will find anywhere.

He also reads and speaks fluent Chinese if you need a translation.

Yes, very interesting indeed...

I first came across 7-Stars at the Timmonium show around '91. IIRC, he was putting out a nice pamphlet as an intro to Chinese arms. I notice that his prices seem to have tripled since then.

7-stars / Rodell is putting out a book later this year

on Chinese Arms.

His posts on Swordforum - Chinese are worth reading through.

Lots of good posts on SF RE metals/blades/smithing/etc/etc

My grocery bill (and belly) have grown too.
'Antique/Collectables' market especially has grown over the years.
(I don't know him except through his posts)

This is a 'bazaar' kukri made in India. The handle is bone and the blade is of low grade steel. Pretty standard even with all all the fullers ground in.

I'm certainly not trying to demean Scott's items...he has some great stuff and seems to be a good guy. I met him in Baltimore for the first time and hope to do business with him some day on kukris (or koras) of a higher caliber.
