I bought an Old Timer (marked on handle) sheath knife with no tang mark. Got it used, at an antique mall. Appears to be an OT 165 pattern. Doesn't look like the blade was ground to remove any marks either. Maybe a second or replacement?

The length is 9 5/8" and blade is 5 1/4". Sheath and brown delrin handle look like typical 165. The only marks on blade are these (below) tiny two words on blade's back side. The words are only 3/8" long (tiny); appear to be inked on, not etched. I can't read it. Anybody know what it says (probably CHINA with my luck; LOL).

That says Schrade, but has a gap in it.

I believe Schrade used to sell seconds with the name removed from the blade.
I've read that.
Also read in other threads of this forum that Schrade had unmarked blades kept as replacements for knives under contract to Sears (Craftsman), Penny's, etc. (so they wouldn't be tang marked until needed).

Here are more pics of the knife and sheath. That tiny mark on the blade is the mark in photos above. The opposite side of the blade has no markings.
