The 61OT is also longer than a standard stockman, making it easier to control. And the serpentine shape is a near perfect fit for my own hand.
Unfortunately it is a less common model. A lightly used example should be reasonably priced, if you can find one listed. At a large auction site there is exactly one listed right now - it's listed incorrectly and is in pretty rough shape. Talking about the original USA-made Schrade Old Timers here, made with 1095 carbon steel and not the current stainless imported reproductions.
Here's a comparison photo I have handy, showing the various sized Old Timer stockman patterns. Seems it's missing the Ulster 58OT, which has rounded bolsters like the 61, but smaller. Too bad there's not a Case thrown in for comparison too.
