Anyone know anything about them? I have the opportunity to buy an old double bit and was wondering if they're any good.

Is it an Old Timer as in Schrade Old Timer? I've never heard of an Old Timer axe but Schrade did a lot of different promotions around their Old Timer knives.

Best regards

Found an old auction listing for a Collins Old Timer.

But I'm guessing that yours is an Old Timer from
"Kelley How Thomson Co, Duluth Minn." (note it's not "Kelly")

from another old auction listing:

A 1958 Kelley-How-Thomson catalog was reportedly authored by the Marshall Wells Hardware Company, an axe seller also from Duluth, Minn.

Not sure who the maker is. It has "Old Timer" stamped on it. Also a "W" over a "29."

Could also be a Warren, 1929. I don't have my old catalog, my old man has it. Ill have to see if they had an Old Timer line.

Just picked up a Collins Old Timer Jersey from my father-in-law. Cleaned it up some and started working on re-shaping the bit.

EDIT: Or is this a Balitmore-Kentucky? Does anyone know.

Thanks Memphis.

I found this pattern in the 1937 Warren axe catalog. My guess now is that my axe is a Balti-Kentucky pattern

James H Mann Co had a line of axes - Old Time Axe.

Collins bought out J Mann in early 1920s - continued the line with Old Timer - used it up until Mann Edge bought Collins in 1966
