I just bought a new jigged bone handled Old Timer Stockman. I was told it has the carbon blades. Is this true?? I guess I'll find out when it comes in the mail. Thanks

If it is a new Schrade old timer in jigged bone it would be one of the recent classic series which they are producing. These have Schrade + tang markings which means stainless steel. Lt

Could someone let me know where I could buy a n old timer with bone handle?

The new classic series of Old Timer pocket knives are in jigged bone. Schrade also has several limited editions in ( real ) stag. Also do you want a pocket knife or a sheath knife. Under the older tang markings Schrade Walden and Schrade Cut you can still get (ebay ect) the old jigged bone handles however depending on model and condition they can be rather pricey. Also these are the same patterns but not OT's Again the Old timer (CLASSIC) line are nice. They come in 4 models Trapper, Peanut, Stockman, and a trapper style with a birdhook. Stainless blades. Nice for the money. It depends on what you are looking for. You can find them at Smokey mountain knife works or any large sporting goods store or call Schrade and ask them again the # is (800) 272-4723 Lt

The knife number would help us identify the blade material better. However, if its an old timer classic its a stainless blade, usually when we use bone we use stainless steel for the blade.
