Finished this one up Monday. Had an idea for a blade like this rolling around in my head for a few weeks and then happened to watch a little bit of Ice Age a couple weeks ago. The hero packed a knife that looked like a large fang and that burnt an image in my brain. The blade is 9 1/2" and was a piece of old truck leaf spring. It was 100% hand forged and left forge finished. Used a piece of curly maple and iron pieces to finish it off. The sheath is my usual 2 ply leather but I put more time into this one. Made the tools I used to emboss it out of 16 penny nails. Overall this knife is 14 1/2 ".

Good heavens, that whole set up is amazing! I would love to see how you tooled that sheath- well the knife as well. You do incredible work.

Ray, ou should give me your grinder, because you don't even need it :D. Your forge finished blades are awesome. I'm still kicking myself for not getting that long dagger you did last year.

This one is quite cool. I like the extra on the sheath too, nice touch.

Is it just me or are your knives just getting better and better every time you post. Great knife Ray , love it. Paul

your ability to forge steel into the exact shape of a knife always blows my mind Ray.
