6608725231 Craftsman (Old Timer) Pocket Knife 9523

Final days/years factory oops or somebodys "repair" job???

From what I could tell from the picture, all the blades had a bit of rust on them. That coupled with the pitting on the back springs would make me think it is either a repair job or another factory oops.

Just my $.02

Yeah.. I've emailed the seller for more/better pics and further info. Haven't heard back. Went ahead and bid... I collect Craftsman as well, so figured what the heck..

Thanks Dale... Best wishes to you and your granddaughter - hope you both are fairing well after that rearender..

regards,

A replaced shield is my first thought on the knife. I've had two fall out over the years, one Schrade replaced for me and returned the knife in a new sheath N/C. The other was a thirty year old beater I bought for rehandling. I think (though not positive) the Old Crafty shields were the same as Old Timer with different text. Glueing one in would be a repair job even I could do (if it didn't have to be crinked).

Ahhh !! I bet you're dead on target there Codger... I had forgotten about the Old Crafty's resemblence to the OT... Well, just have to wait and see if I prevail, and if I do, give it the old "I-ball" comparison, I have a couple of Old Crafty's to compare to - I think !! :jerkit:

Okay, lrv, don't go there..... :D

Me? I think you have me confused with El Lobo!
While I do resemble that remark. Bill is right on it.

Now, now,

You can lead a wolf to water...but you can't always make him drink.

Unless you got some Drown Royal as well.
