Here's one I had not seen before, a 3OT advertising the 100th anniversary of Ford Racing. The shield reads, "Anniversary Edition."

[the auction is ended, and I bought it]

Any idea how many of these might have been produced?

Thanks for the link, Codger. Have you seen this knife before? Was it a one-time thing, or part of a series?

The most interesting aspect to me is the "Anniversary Edition" shield. Wonder why they didn't make a "Ford" shield, as they did with so many other special productions? Or, since the shield is generic, if it was used on any other Old Timer commemoratives.

By the time this knife was made, they were doing MIM shielding in-house I believe, that is molding powdered metals rather than haveing a hardened die strike them from die-cut planchets. Was teh shield used on other SFO's? Possibly. I don't recall offhand. Since the shield seems to fit the usual OT cavity and the only other special feature is the blade etch, it was likely a low price-point SFO. As far as I know, it was a stand-alone SFO and not a part of a series. I note the standard packaging (does it have a special sticker on the box end flaps?) and papers, rather than the gift box we usually see on more expensive limited editions. I'll look and see if I can find a new product order sheet on it. Perhaps Larry and Eric will do the same. Both are usually faster and more organized than I.

No, there's nothing on or in the box to indicate a special edition. Not even a sticker on the end flaps.

Thanks for posting that, Dave. I read that site regularly but never noticed that flyer before.
