I am the original owner of a fine Randall Model 5, Bradford Angier special, and several related items.

The knife has been carefully used in situations ranging from the Everglades to Mr. Rainier and the North Cascades. It does NOT show the wear. It has a well used A model sheath in good condition. (Does have my ASN on the reverse side, and the plating is worn on the snaps.

I also have a personal letter from Bo Randall and the 1984 price list and catalog that he sent with it.
He was returning the 1980 price list that I had jokingly offered in trade for a new list.

A 1972 hardbound edition of "Survival With Style" by Bradford Angier completes the collection.

Do you think I should offer these for sale as a package, or would I be better off with individual sales?

Welcome. What does telling us the condition of the knife have to do with if whether you should sell these items as a group or individually?

Seems like that is the kind of information one would include when one is trying to sell an item. Which, of course, you aren't trying to do.

Since you are asking for free advice here on BF, I would offer the collection as a set, here on BF, once you have gotten the proper membership level. To me, using the information one has gotten on this site to support another site? :barf:

... and it's not some quick turn-over

My 82nd b/d is coming up, and I think some stuff needs to be sorted out, before my kids give it to charity.

... and it's not some quick turn-over

When my Dad passed away, it got me thinking about some of the same things. I was an only child, so all his knives, guns, and such went to me - and I kept everything. Nothing was sold. But I realized that I didn't know the history of many of his older items, Pre-WWII guns, souvenirs from his time in the service, Civil War items, things he inherited from his Dad, stuff like that. I also realized that my kids wouldn't know the history of a lot of what I now own, some of which would be passed down to a 4th generation.

So, I sat down and took pictures of everything that mattered and wrote a small paragraph or two about the item and included that in the will. When one of my kids inherits something, they will also inherit its history and can then do what they want with it knowing that it may have monetary or sentimental value.

IMHO, it is something everyone should do since we never know what life may bring or take away from us at any given minute. You might want to consider such a task yourself. :)

Best of luck.
