Old Timer on screen

I just saw the new film "Nurse Betty." It's an odd film with a fair bit of graphic violence (I liked it, though it may not be everyone's cup of tea). I thought it interesting and encouraging that, in a movie full of violence, a Schrade Old Timer appears prominently but in a more gentle role. The hitman character played by Morgan Freeman uses his Old Timer to cut "Nurse Betty" free. After freeing her, he holds the knife for awhile, contemplating. Then he folds it up and drops it back in his pocket. All in all, I give the Old Timer's appearance two thumbs up!

The first we heard about the usage of our product was about a week ago, when one of our employees saw the movie (he gave it a thumbs down - the movie, not the knife!) We did not pay to be in this movie, nor did we have any prior knowledge about the use of the knife.

Since Old Timers have been around awhile, are sold just about anywhere any knives are available, and have been one of the most popular line of knives available, it's not surprising to see one being used.

I'm just glad an Old Timer wasn't used in the FIRST knife scene in the movie. Not pretty. And it certainly wouldn't have been good PR for Schrade. That was the cool thing about the knife content in the movie though, a POS-looking dagger was used for the dirty (and I mean DIRTY) work, but an Old Timer was used thoughtfully to help someone. Subliminal, eh? Maybe soon everyone who saw the flick will be tramping down to Sears to pick up an Old Timer of their own. ;-)
