I really like the Old Timer stockmans. Recently I decided to branch out and got an Uncle Henry 885uh. I found that, compared to the same model in the ot series, the sheepsfoot blade sticks up slightly higher in the closed position. I also got a 334uh and found the same thing.

Is this typical of the Uncle Uncle Henry series?

In my opinion, it's not really an Uncle Henry trait, but some sheepsfoot blades will ride higher than others, and some even high enough that the point of the blade clears the frame. Some folks like that, so they can pinch the blade open without the use of a nail nick. Handy in cold weather. Not as pleasing to the eye in my opinion. I'm thinking you are referring to an 834UH. I've handled a lot of Uncle Henry and Old Timers in the same patterns, it will vary from knife to knife.
