This auction recently ended, a felt-lined box set of 6 USA Old Timer knives. Each one has a different SFO-type marking; the markings and models are as follows:

89OT, Safety Award impressed in handle
34OT, Dekalb Agra impressed in reverse handle
12OT, green "C" impressed in handle
3OT, BellSouth blade etch
194OT, Safety Award impressed in handle
125OT, Cross Pointe blade etch

It also has a laminated card, dated 1992, "What Makes Schrade a Great Knife?"

My wildest guess, this was a sales sample set demonstrating the variety of customized corporate logos available.
A second, less interesting guess, some past collector accumulated these knives individually and put them together in this case that was originally made for another purpose.

Anyone? Please.

I've sent a question off to the seller to learn more of the set's provenience.

Also, as a discussion topic, why did this set sell for so little? $15 per knife?!? C'mon, really?

I've never seen that combination. It sure did not bring a very good price given it has a 125OT, 8OT, and a 194OT.

A salesman's sample for ad specialty knives (see the COSRUS site) would be my best guess. A former employee might know for certain. But that flocked vac formed tray was not likely made by any collector, IMHO.

Hi Bob,
Is that Display Box made of plastic? I have a Tool in a box like that one... Ken
