Hello all I have a Schrade Walden 80T with a funny looking nail hole on the main blade, I have heard it was called a French nail hole from someone That might not know a thing about knives. The hole looks like ^^^^^^^^^ but upside down. does any one have any info on this knife. Should I use the knife or is a collectable? It has been used and had a little discolor to the blades. Any help will be greatly appreciated. John

Welcome to the forums.....

It sounds like a "Matchstriker" nail pull. The name may have been derived from the ability to strike a wooden match across the pull.

For your knife itself, I'd suggest posting the EXACT tang stamp, and any other markings, in the Schrade forum....under Manufacturers at the top of the page.
