Looks good Greymenace, if you want to include the Ulsters there's the 50OT, the 114OT (Utility), and the 58OT. Where's the knife show?

Eric

Oops, i forgot the Ulsters,i have all 3, i just forgot. I'm mainly interested in seeing if there are any other N.Y stamps, i recently picked up a 15OT with a N.Y, but the stamp is more like an etching, kinda odd,and when i thought about it i have'nt seen many fixed blades with the N.Y tang stamp. the show is in Tacoma Washington, its still a ways off. I took 2nd place for my display last year, hopeing for 1st this year. Ita alot of fun hearing every bodys stories about ther old timers.

If you want to include the Ulsters, a 10OT too. I think you're good to go on the NY stamps.

I've always noticed over the years how limited the N.Y stamp has always been, thats what led me to believe it was only used a few years,i believe around 83 give or take a year when all operations were moved to Ellensville.,according to what i have read.

The Old Timers and Uncle Henry models are especially stingy with the SCHRADE NY stamp, mainly I think because of the age of different patterns. I have SCHRADE NY stamps on quite a few of the Open Stock series: 234K, 293, 293Y, 787, 825, 832, 834, 855, 861, 863, 881, 895, 899. Some of those went on to have a SCHRADE USA stamp eventually. With the exception of the 33OT, I think most of the patterns with a SCHRADE NY stamp were ones that could also be found in a SCHRADE WALDEN version as well. There were a few SFO's with that stamping too.

When one branding/pattern/type is up on the market, look around to grab bargains that others pass by. As you know, I like my Craftsman knives and am acquiring older Sears catalogs for my research. Most of the knives are premium made SFOs of standard Schrade, Ulster, Imperial and Camillus patterns.

This one is a circa 1946-48 Craftsman Chrome Vanadium Hollow Ground 12" butcher with polished rosewood handle, as new with original sleeve. I only need a few mint examples for my collection and illustrations.

Baer, in his unpublished memoirs, stated that they (Ulster/Imperial) developed a line of Vanadium knives for Sears. This is one of those, I believe. I'll know for sure when it arrives and I can match a catalog number and date to it.

Don't forget the Primble Old Timers too. :D

I only have two Schrade-Walden Old Timers in my collection, the 34 and 108.

Here are the NY models I can vouch for:
8OT
8OT, w/ Keen Kutter etch and French nail nick
8OT, 1985 anniversary w/ smooth red bone
34OT
34OT, 1985 anniversary w/ smooth bone
108OT
108OT, 1985 anniversary w/ smooth bone

I got a couple Sears vandium knives
I mostly buy them at thrift shops for like 1.99
Some of them are flimsy
But some of them are nice and solid
I think there is a FROZEN HEAT version??
I collect Craftsman stuff so I can't pass them up
