A bunch of old catalogs have been uploaded recently to archive.org by Mark Stansbury (thanks, Mark!)

I see that Lapierre Sawyer even offered a double bit haft with a curve towards the swell. I guess you can distinguish the chopping blade from the splitting blade pretty easy that way.

Definitely the "good old days"....people were proud to work at these places and it was exciting to get these catalogs.Stuff was made to last.Doubt we'll ever see those days again but it would be nice to see some of that spirit return.I bet the CEO would say "good morning!" to his employees as well.

Thanks Steve. I remember stocking up on Sequachie Indian Fire handles in the early eighties at the local hardware. They probably thought I was weird or hard on tools. I was buying a couple handles every week for several months. I've used them all now rehabbing and the hardware store burned down several years ago. I wish I would have bought more of them.

Right on Steve, thank you for sharing those and the link.

A lot of good axe stuff going on here lately!
