A buddy of mine sent me a box full of knives a while back that had been burned up in a house fire. This one was a pretty sad looking old Cammie Marine knife.I cleaned it up and put this amber dyed stag round on it with a micarta spacer at the guard and a silver cap on the butt.I think it turned out pretty cool considering what condition it was in.Still has a lot of scattered pits, but that old carbon steel edge will peel the hair off your arm with ease.My wife made the sheath by copying another Case xx Marine Knife i had here.I love knife work, but the leather is a whole other arena i don't seem to fit in with. She did a fantastic job.

Great job giving an old soldier a few more years of use.

thx - cpr

BTW, a little bit of sandpaper on the edges of the sheath and some baseball glove oil might be a nice touch,

Nice. I certainly apprciate the saving of an old blade. One of those "marine" knives is on my list....

I have one of those old Camilius Marine Kbar knives. Mine has a Camo leather sheath with it. I have always wonderd about its origins.<a href="http://s628.photobucket.com/albums/uu3/Wildone39/?action=view&current=100_3963.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i628.photobucket.com/albums/uu3/Wildone39/100_3963.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
