I picked this hatchet up a while back and have not seen one like it. My guess is you guys will know a bit about these, and I'm curious. Didn't know they made this pattern. It had been rehafted with a good handle and it sharpened up nice. I made a mask and whipped it.

Trade, are you following me ? ...lol
Nice looking Hatchet man, and nice work on it too, as usual.

Nice. My kid recently joined the scouts, so I've been on the look out for a good hatchet. He's only a tiger cub, so there is plenty of time before he gets his totin' chip. I would love to find him something like this or a vintage BSA hatchet.

I was basically curious if this pattern of SAW is common or uncommon. Anyone?

I would say "common." That's relative though. The Swedish makers used this pattern a lot years ago. The lugs that you see on GB's and Wetterlings is a more modern thing.

Should be a great hatchet. I would bet money that it would handily outperform the current model. Looks like it has slightly convexed cheeks. I have a VERY similar hatchet that just said "Sweden." Looks identical in shape.

Thanks. It really does a great job, I'm impressed with it. I have a hatchet head that says only "Sweden" as well. I should haft it and start using it.
