Finished this up from a customers sketch, normally I dont do "sketch" orders but this was simple enough. Left "rough forged" (old) and used some Carbon Fiber from a formula race car wing (new). Blade is 7" x 2-1/4", 3/8" thick at ricasso, 12" overall. The customer want a stout, strong "go to" survival knife for his truck bag.

I would 'go to' that in a flash! Really like the rough forged look. Nice work, Matt. Compact, sturdy and ready.

Really liking the cf handles you been coming up with lately! You should definetly work on that and kind of make it one of your specialties.

thanks all, Burnsy your CF hunter is coming out of the same batch of CF so should look real similar.... if it werent for the "itch" factor I would use alot more CF.

that's a rad lookin knife Matt.

Frick'n love it Matt!

That carbon fiber is freaking awesome.... love the mix of the old school:new school. I've got an order for a clay hardened blade with carbon fiber that I'm really excited to do (well besides working the cf!).

I HATE wearing gloves for anything, but I wear rubber gloves when I'm grinding/filing/sanding cf or I go insane over the itch factor.

Mr Lamey that is an awesome looking knife. One of these days I will have to have one of your knives. I know I could trust my life to it like all of the customs I buy!

Chad, its some of the 3/8" thick 1095FG from ALdo, good stuff!

hey lamey i did a search for this 1095fg and nothing really comes up what is the fg part of the 1095? i know there is 1095 cro van is FG kind of the same?

Nick, yeah the thin surgical gloves are a good idea... one I didnt use, I just taped up my sleeves, collar, wore a hat/respirator, had all the fans on etc... and it still got me!

Bigcountry, would be glad to make you a knife you can trust when the cards come up short!

chad, its the stuff aldo sells in the 3/8" x 1-5/8" size, good stuff.

Would love one like that with an 8 inch blade. That would be a knife that could do all and would never let you down!!!!

I can not say how many times I have looked at this knife and coveted it! Like I said for me this knife with an 8 inch blade would be it!! The do all of do all knives! With some micarta handle slabs. That to me would be perfection!
