My dad passed 3 years ago and I wound up with a bunch of his old knives. One is a 107. It is an older knife with 3 pins in what look like micarta handles. It is complete with sheath and has been used (but not abused) a lot. It really has no sentimental attachment for me and I was wondering if I should send it in for the "spa'" treatment or just hang on to it in its current condition, as it is an older knife. FWIW I also got a 102 that was in wretched condition (it is at Buck right now), a Camillus built 301 (well used), and an older 124 that has been used some but is in better condition than the rest. I bought a sheath for the latter but it is too big for my tastes and resides in the desk drawer.

The classic dilemma is whether cleaning something up will devalue it. Spa service on a 107 is something that is up to you, in my opinion. 107s in good, original condition are scarce, but I don't think they're highly sought after either.

That knife looks like it would clean up pretty well.

Value is relative, it was your Dad’s knife, now it’s yours - to me that is its greatest value. It is scarce, but even mint it wouldn’t make a truck payment and surely won’t pay off a grandkids college tuition. If you want it clean looking send it in, best $7.00 you’ll ever spend on a knife. Me, I like mine with the history of the use marks, not for money value added, but for the intrinsic value of using a working mans knife who held it before me. OH
