I have a mid-late 60's 110. I've checked all the threads, but haven't found anything exactly like it.
The closest was a thread on 3-6-2000, 2:19 pm., except mine has brass pins and a larger nick in the blade for opening.
Mine has: inverted BUCK, usa (underneath) across the tang. Brass pins, ebony scales, brass spacer.
Q: -Is the blade 440C?
-Value?
-Have a 118 from about the same time,
inverted BUCK usa across the tang. Is
this 440C?
Would like to use it, but the sheath is
a mess. Do you know if sheaths are
still available for it?

Thank you,

Walter

Walter,
Joe is on a hunting trip so I will pinch-hit for him.
Yes, Buck knives from that era are 440C. The 110 is probably worth about $75. Although the 118 was recently dropped from the Buck line, I am sure sheaths are available. Contact Buck Customer Service at
619-449-1100 and ask them.
Hope this helps.
Larry

Joe found a 118 sheath for me awhile back. Hopefully he will be able to find another.

Larry is right. the 118 has been discontinued and the last time I ordered sheaths they told me that none were available for the 118 so what I have in stock is all there is for me.

If Joe can't find one for you, I have a few of the current "Snoopy style" 118 sheaths in stock. They are $18.00 shipped.

The older style with the flap that goes over the top are long gone, unfortunately, so finding one of those would be difficult, at best.

Good luck.

"Snoopy style" sheath ??? Is that the sheath with a snap fastening that comes down diagonally?

wa,
The snoopy style sheath is so named because when you open it up and hold the leather flat, the outline looks like the famous comic strip Peanuts beagle.
This is the newer style sheath which replaced the old flap over type.

wa,

Your best bet for that 118 would be Dennis's offer. I may be able to find you one but it would be used. Let me know.
Take care,

I'll just trade you a new 110 and a new 118 for those old knives of yours and you'll be able to use them with the new sheaths that come with them. Of course my conscience will bother me for a while.

Can you send me a jpeg photo? I'll tell you what they are worth.

Thanks Vern,

I would feel terrible, knowing that your concience was bothering you, so I'll just keep them.
The 110 looks used, but still in good shape; the 118 looks great except for scratches from sharpening. If I can photo them, I'll send it.
I ordered a sheath from Dennis Wright.

Walter
