  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

I have an opportunity to purchase a Buck 110 marked on the blade with only BUCK* on the blade. No, not really an asterisk, but a small dot after BUCK. I'm sure I will be corrected if I am wrong, but I believe that puts it in the 1966-68 time period. It is in excellent condition. There are only signs of slight use. The sheath, very thin leather, is in near mint condition. The owner told me that the sheath just sat in a drawer. No box. My question, how much money is too much? Also, if anyone has any info on this variation, I would appreciate it.

If you have a problem posting pictures, there is a Quick & Dirty tutorial at Photobucket For Dummies. If you don't have a digital camera, but do have a scanner, lay your knife on the glass and throw a light colored towel/t-shirt/cloth over it and scan it. Save the pic, and follow the above instructions for posting pics.

If you are getting a blank screen (no hits) when using the Search function, follow these instructions courtesy of Cougar Allen [paraphrased] -

Click on "Search This Forum" (in the Forum you want searched); then click "Advanced Search"; select "Search Titles Only"; and put your subject in the keyword field. If you search all of Bladeforums for every occurrence of the subject that will overload the search function and you'll get no results, but if you follow these directions you'll find what you want.

...Sounds like a nice knife to me. If it looks like these pics it ain't worth nuthin'...Just give me the address to the party sellin' it and I'll let him know personally...heh heh heh...:D   :p
...click on the thumbnails for larger pics...

Actually this is a Third Version , First Variation made in 1966...One like this sold for about $125 on that "Bay" joint about a week ago...It's a very desireable knife...Hope ya get it...

The year will depend on the orientation of the stamp. Could be a 1965 second version or a 1966-67 third version. Have you checked Joe's Cheat Sheet in this sticky to help determine which it might be? http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=459010

IMHO, in the condition you indicate with the original sheath. In a venue like ebay, a second version could bring $200 or more. And a third maybe $50-75 less then that.

Again this is only my opinion and you know what they say about opinions. :jerkit:

But I believe you did ask for it didn't you. :)

$200 or less?????? Huh!!!

I take it that means you paid more for one??? :)

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH... An unended auction! AAAHHHHHh...

Anyway something is seriously not right about that knife anyway.
IMHO $30.00 may be too much, but thats just me. $250.00, no way.

The lock back ridge looks like it's not quite either...

...LOL...I agree with ya both on this one...That's one I wouldn't do $30 on either Jim...Seeing this one for $250 makes me feel that the one in my desk drawer should go for some $750 or $1000 no problem...LMBO... :p :D
