Just wondering if anyone could let me know when this might have been made and if the engraving near the butt cap has any significance. It says 184-002B.
Thanks, Matt

Hello Matt,
I have a couple theories on that knife. If you take the pommel off and look inside the handle, do you see the bolt that holds the whole thing together?
I am pretty sure that 184-002b is the part number for the 184 handle but will check to see for sure.

Matt,
My guess is that the knife might have been a QA department sample. I say this because it looks like Buck engraved the part number on the handle. I would have thought that it was not glued though but you never know.
The knife does appear to be pieced together somewhat, especially since not all the parts are black.
The only way to know for sure is if the knife could talk. :)

I hope this helps.
