older 650 vs. newer 650

so i was comparing my two 650 nighthawks full size versions. my older one besides not having the obvious but not useful, for me, oxygen wrench holes.....has a longer blade. not much but enough. also a much more user carry wearing better sheath, for my needs.

so i was wondering who has older and newer and is my newer just a bad sharpening job that removed more metal or are all slightly shorter and not as wide as the older ones.

also who likes the tops collab goofy bulky sheath for such a small fixed knife. i find it awkward and bulky which translates to useless for the type of stuff i do. which is being in the swamp and jungle. where less is more.

interested in seeing others opinions on it. thanks in advance.

I might be wrong, but it looks like the wider sheath has a pocket for either a stone, fire starter, or possibly a 301 Stockman.
I would have no use for the oxygen bottle holes myself, so I would prefer the older knife, with the wider sheath, for the pocket.
Less stuff in the pants pocket thataway. :)

I'd say put the knife you prefer in your preferred sheath (presuming it fits) and enjoy your time in the boonies. :)

yeah it does have an eextra pocket for small stone or stockman or whatever is wanted.

i do that but buck stopped making the better sheath for me...so um gonna have makael make me one that is useful and less bulky etc. appreciate your feedback.
 
Pretty sure I've got at least one of every one of the old versions before the TOPS input and I like them all just fine. I've no desire for any of the newer ones. Actually I'm missing the 651 Pigsticker with the black handle, got the other two versions of that one.
