Just got this, from a blurry sales pic I thought it was a basic 710 with a black blade. Instead it turned out to be an older one, a First Production Run piece. Has the smooth coating, parkerized clip and the older Bali-Song logo as well, a nice touch.

No box or papers with it. So, anyone remember what the correct model number for this one is? 710BT perhaps or something with extra acronyms?

Also, if I got my facts straight, the time period when this was made would be something like 1999 or thereabouts, correct?

1999 sounds right. Why BM doesn't still use those clips is a mystery. The painted ones suck. That is a nice knife.

Yes, 710BT. The intro was, I believe, made at the 1999 SHOT Show. Gawgeus knife!

Cheers guys! :)

I don't usually care much for coated blades but this was a good deal and worth grabbing. Nicer feel and smoother too than the 710D2 I had a few years ago and with which I had abnormally bad luck and some problems. Been wanting to give the 710 a second go since.

That is a beautiful knife.

Your pictures just gave me a very strong desire to get my 710 back out and put it in my pocket. Looks like I'll be carrying it tomorrow.
