older buck 103 identification problems

I have a buck 103 that is pre 86,( buck 103 usa) but has a narrower blade profile than the normal 103. It has the same knife edge curvature, but the back of the blade is shaped more like the 102. The thickness of the steel,however(gauge) is wider than a normal 103. This doesnt seem to be a mod. Any ideas entheusiasts? I know a pic would be ideal, and i can work on that. Thanks for your help(s).:rolleyes:
