Older Camillus Pen Knife Mismarked???

I have aquired a Camillus 2 blade senator pen knife with milled File worked Brass liners on the top a Federal Sheild looks to be Pearl or Cracked Ice, My problem is every thing I find showes its a #44 but the master Spear Blade is stamped 49 which is a tuxedo and no its not a blade change i have some txedos and not even close to the same size or style of blade and Nail nick is way different any help would be Great

No thats not it as I said it is not a Tuxedo which is a 49 or 49p for pearl.
This is a senator Style and Camillus has them in the 40s Catalog but they are Modle 44 and as I said the one I have is Marked 49 at base of blade and is Older by the tang stamp Camillus Underline

Please post a picture of your knife.

Tom told me that Camillus changed their numbering system.
I believe it was in the late 1940s or the 50s.
They then assigned some of the old numbers to new patterns.
It gets rather confusing.

Thanks for the Info! dose any one Have Info on a good book that as alot of Cammilus Info of Past knives in it? I have severial books but they dont tell very much about Camullus! and thats the Brand I am Interested mostly in Collecting
